Cross stitched and DIY lampshades

Last week we got our new Lampshade making kits into stock on Granny Knits – and we have been working on some of our new craft kits as well as Pearl and Earl ranges…
… and here is a sneaky peek…
The lampshade kits contain all you need (including full instructions) to make a 30cm lamp shade, which can be used as a lamp or as a pendant shade.  All you need is a bit of fabric and some imagination!  They took me less than 30 minutes to make…  plus glue drying time for the trim.
First up is our SUPER SIZED 45cm diameter multi striped fabric lamp with a rainbow pom pom trim which now is in our hallway.  As the ceilings are so high I made it a whopping 50cm deep… It looks FAB even if we say so ourselves.
Second was one made with the standard 30cm kit – for the back of the hallway by the staircase …  a little smaller so you dont bang your head!  Trimmed with some of our vintage ric rac.

Last, but by no means least is part of our new collection of cross stitches which we are launching soon.  The light bulb was cross stitched onto a fat quarter of linen 28 evenweave, and then made up using a mini 5inch kit, some of our jumbo ric rac and plonked on a standard lamp base from our local Swedish home store.

I have to say we are very pleased with the new hallway results …  let us know what you think and how you get on with our kits…

Everything (including the fabrics) are available to buy online at Granny Knits
